Services
OPENPICTURES AG's film processing lab stands for high quality and
long experience.
Its state-of-the-art technology complies with international standards. Our services include developing, film scanning, special effects, cine film recording
and sound mastering.
developing:
Instead of using conventional rubber squeegees, the liquid parts are sucked off the negative by a
vacuum pump. This prevents both scratching of the negative during development and transference of
contamination between baths. Films are developed using recyclable liquid parts from Kodak. We are
setting new environmental standards, with chemical recovery of almost 100 percent of the
substances employed. Quality benefits, too, because the computer control system specially
developed for the process ensures accurate chemical dosage.
film scanning:
Film scanning is a touchy topic. Our star performer for this role is Spirit - the scanner that
converts film into 2K data. Spirit captures every nuance - with 14-bit colour depth. Also
unrivalled is the incredible resolution with Da Vinci 8:8:8 colour correction for your personal
touch.
special effects:
Film or video? We can generate special effects for both. OPENPICTURES AG´s film processing lab is
the only postproduction firm in Central Europe to offer both state-of-the-art computer controlled
film special effects technology and the full range of computer video tricks. Our 100 sqm studio
has a permanently lit bluebox and is directly linked with the editing suite.
cine film recording:
Our high-resolution electronic film recorder can transfer video and computer graphic signals to
film at art standard, with a resolution of up to 4K. All standard film formats can be processed
without degrading of the original stock.
sound mastering:
Ear-splitting sound for commercials, documentaries and feature films. We provide the latest
equipment with up to 148 tracks for a truly professional sound experience. Our THX and Dolby
certifications make it happen.
